Project started in 2009 with the aim of contributing to the fight against climate change by planting trees and conserving a natural area rich in biodiversity or the recovery of a degraded natural area.

Geographic scope

Nation-wide

Results

With this project, Red Eléctrica offset a part of its CO2 emissions, collaborates on biodiversity conservation and contributes to the development of the local economies through the fact that reforestation works are carried out by local companies and organisations.

Since 2009 we have planted 11 forests with 473,622 trees and shrubs, recovered 665 hectares of degraded land, offset 134,126 tonnes of CO2 and created 5,779 days of local employment. The investment for the project amounts to 1,442,489 euros.
