Intensive biodiversity prospecting Campo de Gibraltar

Informative sessions on energy

Red Eléctrica contributes to the dissemination of knowledge regarding the functioning of the electricity system by encouraging participation in conferences and training/informative sessions.

Red Eléctrica supported the first bioblitz –a day of biological prospecting– organized and carried out by the Instituto de Estudios Campogibraltareños in June 2019.

The day was held at the International Centre for Bird Migration (CIMA) in Tarifa and enjoyed the collaboration of the Straits National Park, Tarifa Council and the Migres Foundation.

More than 60 people took part and documented 493 different species in an area of 30 hectares, including invertebrates, vertebrates and flora. The idea is to organize a day like this every year in a different part of the area to continue registering its biodiversity.
