Recovery of archaeological site

Environmental awareness

Red Eléctrica collaborates with various non-profit organisations and entities to carry out social support actions targeted at various groups with specific needs.

In 2019, Red Eléctrica participated in an environmental volunteering day together with ACTEO Arqueología y Patrimonio, held on 9 November in Galapagar, Madrid, consisting of the recovery of a drainage ditch from the Roman period, located just five metres from the "Puente de El Toril" archaeological site.

A group of employees and their families worked on the removal of vegetation that hid a ditch from the Roman road that connected Merida with Zaragoza, passing through the Sierra de Madrid. In addition, ACTEO experts explained the importance of Roman culture and archaeological remains.

This solidarity initiative is a reflection of Red Eléctrica's commitment to the conservation of archaeological heritage in the design and construction of electrical installations, in collaboration with the Administration.
