Ornamental lighting project for the roman bridge of Merida (Badajoz)

Recovery and dissemination of archaeological heritage.

Red Eléctrica collaborates on the study and protection of archaeological resources in Spain through programmes for the valorisation of cultural heritage of the municipalities.

Red Eléctrica collaborated with Merida Council (Badajoz) in 2019 on the restoration of the exterior ornamental lighting of the roman bridge with 320 led lights, contributing to efficient and environmentally sound conservation.

This initiative, which forms part of a global project to adapt and renovate the spectacular lighting of other outstanding buildings in the city, will illuminate the whole roman bridge from the Alcazaba to the end ramp, using new technology that does not increase consumption.

This intervention was carried out in the first half of the year, with the aim of offering a new image for the celebration of the Emerita Lvdica in June.
