Conservation of the Lesser Grey Shrike (Lanius minor) in Spain

Contribute to the retention of the shrike species in the territory of Lerida, using the Torreribera rural land as territory to boost the conservation of the species.

Results
  • 167 fledglings released. Of the 109 released until 2013, a total of 12 individuals have returned to the release areas of three release cages and one breeding cage at large.
  • 4 breeding pairs have been established, with a minimum of 3 active nests.
  • Release of chicks.
  • Improvement of the habitat of the species. More than 90 trees were planted and flora and vegetation were planted along a total of 3 km of water ways.
  • Provision of supplementary food for birds.
